ABOUT MELITZA

Melitza Velez is the founder and owner of Freedom Counseling & Consulting Services, LLC. Melitza has her Master's Degree in Social Work and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 20 years of experience in social services. Her work includes individual and family work, psycho-educational and support groups. Launching her career working with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, developed into a passion for helping others and for advocacy. She also spent a number of years working with youth involved in the Juvenile Justice System. As a person who was born and raised in the inner city, she is committed to investing in the people of her community and beyond. Melitza is an active part of her church community and has collaborated with several local agencies.

Freedom Counseling is a safe place where people could be open and honest about their innermost concerns and vulnerabilities and work on being the best version of themselves.

Freedom Counseling believes that incorporating the entire self is an integral part of treatment. Faith and spirituality, which has been largely overlooked, is a large component and is taken into consideration when working together in becoming a healthier individual.
